Qualifications

• MD (or equivalent) with a clinical background in dermatology, nutrition, or internal medicine.
• 7+ years’ experience in clinical practice or healthtech leadership.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards (GDPR, CE, or FDA) required.

About KAYA

KAYA is a clinical-grade AI assistant designed for healthcare practitioners—starting with dermatology and nutrition. Built for diagnostic and treatment planning support, KAYA delivers personalised insights from multimodal data (image, clinical history, diet logs, etc.)—not just for patient care, but for reshaping how clinicians work.

We’re currently launching our MVP and entering a pilot phase with European practitioner before expanding to the U.S. Our vision is to become the go-to tool for precision, efficiency, and intelligent decision-making in outpatient care.

Your Role

As Chief Medical Officer, you’ll serve as the clinical voice at the leadership table—ensuring that everything we build aligns with real-world medical practice. You will lead our efforts to validate clinical models, build a practitioner network across specialties, shape our communication to the healthcare community, and represent KAYA in investor and regulatory conversations.

This is a strategic and hands-on role ideal for someone who wants to shape the future of AI in medicine from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Alignment: Act as a bridge between clinical standards and business/product strategy—ensuring our roadmap meets the needs of real-world practitioners.
• Clinical Validation: Lead the design of clinical validation plans and data governance frameworks for dermatology, nutrition, and upcoming specialisations.
• Network Building: Identify and engage early adopters, pilot partners, and advisory board members across the EU and U.S.
• Regulatory & Ethical Oversight: Oversee data handling protocols, ethical review processes, and prepare for future regulatory pathways (e.g. CE marking, FDA).
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with the marketing team to shape medical messaging and tone, support onboarding and training content, and represent KAYA at key industry events.
• Team Building: Recruit and mentor a cross-specialty network of clinicians, researchers, and health advisors.
• Investor & Public Engagement: Join the CEO in investor conversations to speak to KAYA’s clinical value, impact, and scalability.

What We’re Looking For

• MD (or equivalent) with a clinical background in dermatology, nutrition, internal medicine, or a related outpatient care field.
• 7+ years’ experience in clinical practice, healthtech leadership, or academic medicine.
• Strong familiarity with clinical research, AI/ML in healthcare, or digital health tools.
• Ability to translate complex medical ideas to non-clinical stakeholders (product, engineering, investors).
• Experience with regulatory standards (GDPR, CE, or FDA) and data ethics in healthcare.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced startup environments with ambiguity and evolving structures.
• Based in Europe (preferred), with openness to travel for conferences and pilot partner engagements.

Nice-to-Have

• Prior experience as CMO, Medical Director, or Clinical Strategy Lead at a digital health or AI company.
• Network across European or U.S. medical institutions, particularly in dermatology or nutrition.
• Involvement in clinical trials, research, or AI validation studies.
• Interest in shaping clinical UX and human-AI interaction in medical tools.
