Chief Life Cycle Engineer - UK&I Defence Transport, Bristol

This role is based in Bristol and focuses on ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of defence engines, including TP400 and MRTT models. As the technical authority for in-service engines, you will shape support strategies, guide engineering deliverables, and engage with operators to resolve real-world issues. You will also prepare for future MRTT+ operations to meet evolving customer needs.

  • Position: Chief Life Cycle Engineer
  • Work Pattern: Full-time, Hybrid
  • Location: Bristol
Responsibilities
  • Lead in-service engineering strategies for TP400 and MRTT engines.
  • Define and oversee actions to improve reliability, availability, and maintainability.
  • Act as the primary technical interface with customers, handling safety and service concerns.
  • Prepare aftermarket support plans for future MRTT+ operations.
Candidate Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering, Science, or Technology.
  • Experience leading in-service engineering or lifecycle support activities.
  • Strong understanding of product safety, reliability, and maintenance costs.
  • Effective communication skills with stakeholders and customers.
  • Evidence-based root cause analysis skills.
