Job summary

The Fragrance Shop in Manchester is seeking a Head of Legal to join our head office at Trafford Park. You will oversee commercial contracts, litigation, risk management, and data protection across the group, including Per-Scent, with a focus on commercial and IP matters.

Working with CEO and Directors, you’ll guide policy, draft agreements, and lead on property-related lease work, ensuring legal compliance and commercially sound outcomes.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with a current practising certificate and over three years PQE or equivalent.
• Solid experience in commercial and dispute resolution; able to work across areas.
• Positive and enthusiastic; able to communicate legal issues clearly.
• Commercial and flexible approach; experienced in fast-paced environments.
• Experience in both private practice and in-house environments; property work a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the company remains legally compliant while protecting commercial interests.
• Oversee drafting/negotiation of commercial contracts including supplier, licensing, distribution and consumer terms.
• Ensure contracts comply with legal requirements and internal policies.
• Manage dispute resolution, litigation, and represent the company in court when needed.
• Draft and maintain internal/customer policies and IP-related documents.
• Protect and enforce group IP rights; monitor data protection and advertising compliance.
• Advise across the group on risk, privacy, and marketing law.
