Job Description

  • Leading financial planning, budgeting, and long-term strategy for the Trust.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Academy Trust Handbook and financial regulations.
  • Providing strategic insight to senior leaders, Trustees, and stakeholders.
  • Managing multi-million-pound budgets with robust financial governance.
  • Overseeing HR, IT, facilities, and risk management to drive operational efficiency.
  • Leading and developing high-performing teams across finance and operations.
  • Ensuring the Trust maximises funding opportunities and income generation.
  • Implementing strong internal controls to safeguard financial integrity.
  • Driving continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting.

The Successful Applicant

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in senior financial leadership, ideally in education or the public sector.
  • Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience managing multi-million-pound budgets and financial reporting.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Commercial acumen with a strategic mindset to drive financial sustainability.
  • Ability to oversee HR, IT, and facilities while ensuring operational efficiency.
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
