Catholic Charities is seeking its next Chief Financial Officer—a pivotal leadership role within one of Central Minnesota’s most respected nonprofit organizations. Job Summary: As a true strategic partner to Catholic Charities’ CEO and the Catholic Charities Board of Directors, the CFO is responsible for overseeing all facets of the organization’s financial functions and providing leadership to significantly impact the organization’s growth, profitability, capital structure, and strategic direction. The CFO will be an active participant in and driver of the organization’s overall strategy with responsibility for managing the accounting, audit and tax, finance, and purchasing functions. This role includes working closely with the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors to ensure the financial health and sustainability of the organization. She or he will lead all financial administration, budgeting, planning and analysis.
Major Responsibilities: Partner closely with the CEO as a strategic business leader focused on long-term strategy and growth, costs, and capital structure for the organization.
Advise the executive team on long-term growth trends and sustainable program opportunities based on research and analysis that lead community impact.
Provide strategic oversight of the day-to-day management of the financial, purchasing, and risk management operations of the organization.
Lead the Finance Department through organizational values to ensure performance expectations and measures are met.
Requirements:
Education: Candidates will possess an undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA and/or MBA preferred.
Experience: A minimum of ten years of hands-on experience in a financial management capacity. Experience in an industry or business model comparable to Catholic Charities’ or experience in a regulated environment is preferred.
Technology: ERP experience is a significant plus, along with experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Domo, Power BI, etc.
Candidate Profile: The CFO will have a proven track record of success serving as a proactive, strategic business partner and with experience within a senior leadership team. A broad-based business acumen and financial aptitude is needed with the ability to manage the financial and administrative responsibilities of the organization. Candidates must have outstanding management and financial skills and significant experience partnering with business leaders to achieve objectives. Strong communication skills with the ability to think strategically is essential. Must have exceptional financial expertise, business judgment, leadership skills, integrity, and the ability to establish immediate credibility at all levels, inside and outside of the organization.
