Creative Scotland seeks a Chief Executive for Glasgow Film, a leading cultural institution, to lead strategic initiatives and enhance community engagement. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial management skills and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, driving the organization towards commercial and cultural success.
Glasgow Film, Chief Executive
Location - Glasgow
Salary - £65,000 - £75,000
Hours - Full time - 35 hours per week
Glasgow Film is one of the country’s leading cultural institutions providing an independently curated film programme for diverse audiences at the Glasgow Film Theatre and making cinema accessible to all through the renowned Glasgow Film Festival and community outreach and educational initiatives. We are seeking a Chief Executive to drive the development of Glasgow Film as an inspirational national hub for film and screen culture, and advocate for the organisation at a local, national and international level.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead one of Scotland’s most influential arts organisations, working in collaboration with staff, senior management and the Board to develop and implement the vision, strategy and culture of Glasgow Film. A creative problem solver, you will be responsible for the financial performance of Glasgow Film, maximising the generation of both funded and earned income and delivering our three-year business plan. You will be a visible ambassador for all that we do, using your network to identify new partnerships, initiatives and business opportunities to grow Glasgow Film within Scotland as well as internationally. Building strong, positive and valuable relationships with our customers, team and external partners, you will lead with charisma and compassion.
We are an educational charity, so we are looking for someone who knows how to achieve commercial success within a not-for-profit context. You will understand public policy, be alert to cultural funding trends, and will have an awareness of the broader political landscape.
Our values will underpin all that you do, and your previous experience will demonstrate your commitment to tackling economic and social disadvantage and promoting diversity, equity and inclusion. Glasgow Film has a proud tradition of curating world-class cinema but we are also deeply rooted in our community. Our Chief Executive will weave these strands together with finesse, demonstrating a commitment to cultural excellence and a knowledge of film and moving image as well as an ability to ensure our programme of exceptional cinema is inclusive to all.
If you share our values and have the skills to direct the next chapter of Glasgow Film with vision and heart, we would love to hear from you.
