Job summary

Aviva in London, Bristol or Norwich seeks a Head of Engineering to lead a significant digital engineering function and shape the future of Aviva's digital experiences.

You'll deliver secure, resilient and scalable products for millions of customer and colleague interactions, shaping engineering strategy, building capability and driving technology modernisation in collaboration with Product, Architecture and Security.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading large-scale engineering organisations.
• Experience defining and executing engineering strategy, including modernisation and cloud technologies.
• Exceptional stakeholder leadership and influencing skills in large or regulated organisations.
• Strong technical credibility with experience in cloud-native architectures and APIs.
• Track record delivering technology change and business outcomes, in regulated sectors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a large engineering function delivering and operating digital products and platforms for customers and colleagues.
• Shape technology roadmaps, drive investment decisions and support delivery of digital initiatives.
• Embed modern engineering practices, improve delivery performance and foster continuous learning.
• Develop Senior Engineering Leaders and multidisciplinary teams across the function.
