Job summary

SSE plc seeks a Group Head of Data to lead the company’s data strategy, governance and platforms as the chief data officer. You will drive enterprise data capabilities, partnering with CIOs and business-unit leaders to deliver trusted data foundations that enable analytics, AI and growth.

The role requires senior leadership experience across data disciplines, strong commercial judgement and the ability to influence across a large, complex organisation.

Qualifications

• Extensive senior leadership experience shaping and delivering enterprise data strategies.
• Strong governance, data management and architecture knowledge across large organisations.
• Proven ability to lead data functions and enable business-unit delivery through standards.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute SSE’s group-wide data strategy, operating model and investment direction.
• Establish enterprise data governance, metadata, lineage and quality standards.
• Define data architecture, modelling, engineering, APIs and DataOps practices.
• Provide trusted data foundations to enable reporting, analytics and AI-enabled solutions.
