Job summary

Barclay Simpson is supporting an FCA-regulated consumer credit firm in the appointment of a Head of Compliance. North West England (Hybrid) role offering £95,000 - £115,000 + Bonus.

Reporting to the Director of Legal & Compliance, you will shape the compliance function, lead a team and provide senior regulatory advice across the business, embedding Consumer Duty, SMCR and governance across customer journeys.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in FCA-regulated compliance roles.
• Strong knowledge of consumer credit regulation (CONC, DISP, SYSC, Consumer Duty, SMCR).
• Background in consumer credit, lending, brokerage or retail banking.
• Proven leadership and stakeholder management capability.
• Pragmatic, commercially aware approach.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the compliance function and manage an established team.
• Provide senior regulatory advice across the business.
• Oversee key frameworks including Consumer Duty, SMCR, monitoring and governance.
• Ensure regulatory requirements are embedded across customer journeys and operations.
• Partner with senior stakeholders across commercial, operational and technology teams.
• Contribute to transformation, growth and regulatory enhancement initiatives.
