Leeds Beckett University seeks a Head of Security & Campus Safety to shape the transformation of its Estates & Facilities function. This new role leads an intelligence-led security operation supporting students, staff, visitors and partners.

You will report to the Deputy Director, develop the security strategy, oversee 24/7 operations (CCTV, access control, incident response) and strengthen business continuity and risk management across the campus.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience in security, safety or risk management.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, emergency planning and compliance.
• Experience leading security services in complex environments.
• Track record of modernising services and improving performance.
• Experience managing budgets and third-party providers.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Strategic thinker with ability to balance delivery and oversight.

Responsabilités

• Lead the security, safety, resilience and emergency management strategy.
• Provide leadership across all 24/7 security operations including CCTV and access control.
• Strengthen business continuity, emergency planning and crisis response arrangements.
• Drive security modernisation and continuous improvement programmes.
• Advise senior leaders on threats, risks and compliance.
• Manage contracts, budgets and external service providers.
• Develop security policies and risk assessments.
• Build partnerships with police, emergency services and local authorities.
• Support major events and critical incidents.
• Foster a culture of safety, wellbeing and inclusion.
