Job summary

The Wrekin Housing Group Limited is seeking an experienced Head of Building Compliance to join our leadership team. This pivotal role leads building compliance across our housing portfolio, shaping safety and regulatory practices with strategic oversight.

You will translate evolving requirements, including the Building Safety Act, into robust policies and delivery models, while driving continuous improvement and stakeholder engagement to ensure high standards of safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of statutory building compliance and safety requirements in social housing.
• Experience with the Building Safety Act and related regulatory demands.
• Proven track record of developing strategic plans to address workforce challenges.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills with senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication for diverse audiences and clear reporting.
• Commitment to CPD and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all building compliance services ensuring statutory obligations are met.
• Translate regulatory requirements into effective policies and service models.
• Oversee safety cases, building safety information and assurance for in-scope buildings.
• Develop cost-effective compliance programmes with risk-based delivery.
• Drive performance management using data and benchmarking for value.
• Provide visible leadership and foster a positive safety culture.
