Job summary

George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust in Nuneaton is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Dorothea Chemotherapy Unit. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for a defined group of patients and may lead the Day Unit when delegated by the Lead Chemotherapy Nurse.

The role includes acting as a Team Leader, supervising junior and learner staff, supporting preceptorship and mentorship of students, and administering cytotoxic chemotherapy.

Qualifications

• Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for a specified group of patients.
• Act as a Team Leader, delegating appropriate tasks and supervising the standard of care delivered by junior staff and learners.
• Assist in preceptorship of newly qualified staff and mentorship of nursing students and health care support workers.
• Responsible for the administration of cytotoxic chemotherapy.
• Strong commitment to excellence in patient care and high level of communication with other healthcare professionals.

• Takes charge of the Day Unit as delegated by the Lead Chemotherapy Nurse for a specified period of time.
• Act as a Team Leader, delegating appropriate tasks and supervising the standard of care delivered by more junior qualified staff, unqualified staff and learner nurses in the team.
• Assist the Lead Chemotherapy Nurses in the management of preceptorship of newly qualified staff, return to nursing staff and the mentorship of nursing students and health care support workers.
• Responsible for the administration of cytotoxic chemotherapy.

  We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurses to join our team on the Dorothea Chemotherapy Unit. Chemotherapy experience desirable but not essential.

• You will have a strong commitment to excellence in patient care and a high level of communication skills, as you act as the interface between patients and other healthcare professionals.
