Job summary

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 5 nurse for the Halton site CANtreat unit, on a part-time basis (28.5 hours across three days, Monday to Friday). The role involves cross-site work across CCC Wirral, Liverpool and Halton as part of a coordinated cancer care service.

You will provide specialist nursing care, administer chemotherapy and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, patient-centered treatment in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 5 nurse to work at our CCC - Halton site in the CANtreat unit.
  • Travel to peripheral CCC sites as required (Liverpool, Aintree, Wirral, Chester, Halton, and private units).
  • Cross-cover and ongoing training across multiple sites as needed.

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust provides highly-specialist cancer care for a population of 2.4 million people across Cheshire & Merseyside, North Wales, the Isle of Man, and parts of Lancashire.

In June 2020, we opened Clatterbridge Cancer Centre - Liverpool, our spectacular new cancer hospital in the heart of Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter, providing state-of-the-art facilities as part of a £162m investment. Alongside our flagship hospital in Liverpool, we also have two other main cancer centres:

  • Clatterbridge Cancer Centre - Wirral, providing outpatient cancer treatment and supportive care on the Clatterbridge Health Campus in Bebington, Wirral
  • Clatterbridge Cancer Centre - Aintree, our radiotherapy treatment centre on the Aintree University Hospital site

Together, working across three sites and operating specialist chemotherapy clinics in four of Merseyside's district hospitals, we deliver a comprehensive range of inpatient care, advanced radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other systemic anti-cancer therapies including gene therapies and immunotherapies.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiasticBand 5 nurse to work at our CCC - Halton site in the CANtreat unit.

As we deliver treatments in sector hubs and clinicsacross the Wirral and Liverpool, there will an element of cross cover required during training and once training has been completed. This will include travelling to all our peripheral sites:

  • CCC Liverpool
  • CCC Aintree
  • CCC Wirral
  • CCC Chester
  • CCC Halton
  • CCC Private Unit Wirral
  • CCC Private Unit Liverpool
  • Clatterbridge in the Community
