Job summary

NHS Jobs is seeking a Registered Chemotherapy Nurse for a secondment within our oncology services to support the administration of systemic anti-cancer therapies and clinical care.

You will learn and apply a range of routes for therapy, ensure investigations and documentation are completed, and work within a multidisciplinary team to maintain high standards of patient care during the secondment.

Responsibilities

• To learn systemic anti-cancer therapies in a range of routes, safety and in line with your skill set.
• To ensure all relevant investigations are carried out prior to administration of treatment and to complete all relevant documentation.
• To plan, assess and evaluate the problems and needs of individual patients and their families undergoing supportive therapies, supportive treatments include, blood products, iron infusions and immunoglobulins infusions.
• To work as part of the multidisciplinary team ensuring the delivery of a high standard of care to the patients.
• To perform and assist with agreed procedures appropriate to the role and function within the guidelines set down by the Trust.
