Job summary

Veolia, based in Stirlingshire (FK2 7XU), seeks a Chempac Chemist to help create a more sustainable future. You will list, package, label and assess hazardous waste drums, collect wastes from customer sites, and support site operations.

The role requires a degree or HNC in Chemistry and a valid UK driving licence; ADR, forklift, and First Aid qualifications are desirable. Veolia offers training, health resources, and community volunteering opportunities.

Qualifications

• Sound understanding of environmental legislation and hazardous waste regulations.
• Ability to apply chemistry knowledge in practical, customer-focused situations.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• List, package, label and assess hazardous waste drums at customer premises and facilities with full regulatory compliance.
• Collect wastes from customer sites, assess new enquiries, and maintain customer relations per site rules and safety protocols.
• Sample wastes, re-drum leaking containers, manage spillages, and provide expert technical knowledge to customers and colleagues.
• Use IT systems to generate transport documents, complete labels, and process paperwork to meet customer expectations.
• Supervise dangerous loads, maintain stock of routine supplies, and comply with COSHH and Health and Safety regulations.
