Job summary

A global manufacturing company in Widnes is seeking a Process Operator (Chemical). This role involves operating chemical equipment, following process instructions, and requires NVQ2 or equivalent. The ideal candidate should have Loader/Operator experience and preferably knowledge in Lean Manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Previous Loader/Operator experience preferably as a Shift worker.
• COMAH Experience advantageous.
• Experience in the chemical industry preferred but not vital.

Responsibilities

• Operating a variety of chemical plant and equipment.
• Control/troubleshooting of multiple production processes.
• Participate in EHS improvements and site Emergency Response team.

gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Process Technician to work at their facility based near Widnes
Performance Objectives

• Operating a variety of chemical plant and equipment

• following detailed process instructions and completion of process records




• control / troubleshooting of multiple production processes




• Includes simple in-process analytical testing




• Involves regular manual handling of chemicals




• Involves periodic decontamination of equipment for statutory inspections

• Will be expected to undertake First Aid training




• Will be expected to participate in the site Emergency Response team




• Will be expected to participate in process and EHS improvements

Person Specification

• NVQ2 or equivalent




• Previous Loader/Operator experience preferably Shift worker




• COMAH Experience advantageous




• Basic numeracy and literacy essential




• Basic computer skills advantageous




• Counterbalance FLT licence advantageous




• Lean Manufacturing knowledge (5S, Kaizen & 7 wastes) advantageous




• Experience in the chemical industry is not vital but a manufacturing background would be advantageous
