Job summary

Kinetic Recruitment is recruiting a Chemical Process Operative to join a West Manchester operation. The role focuses on processing wet and dry chemical waste using established procedures to ensure safe disposal.

You will handle separation and neutralisation processes, operate processing equipment, and maintain strict safety and documentation standards in a controlled environment.

Qualifications

• Qualification: Chemical Processing Level 1 or Level 2.
• Valid FLT Counterbalance licence.
• Experience in chemical processing, waste treatment or similar industrial environment.
• Knowledge of COSHH and safe handling procedures for hazardous substances.
• Ability to follow technical instructions and SOPs.
• Methodical approach to working safely.

Responsibilities

• Process wet and dry chemical waste streams using established procedures.
• Undertake chemical separation and neutralisation processes.
• Operate processing equipment and associated machinery.
• Monitor processing activities and ensure correct operating procedures are followed.
• Safely handle, transfer and segregate different chemical materials.
• Operate an FLT Counterbalance truck to move materials and waste containers.
• Complete relevant process documentation and operational records.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace safety.

Chemical Process Operative

Location: West Manchester

Salary: £14.36 - £14.90 per hour

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30

Licence Required: FLT Counterbalance

Qualification: Chemical Processing Level 1 or Level 2

The Opportunity

Kinetic Recruitment are currently looking to recruit a Chemical Process Operative to join an established specialist operation based in West Manchester.

This is an interesting opportunity for someone with a background in chemical processing who wants to apply their technical knowledge within a specialist chemical waste treatment environment.

Unlike traditional chemical manufacturing, this role involves effectively reversing the chemical production process. You will be responsible for processing both wet and dry chemical waste, using separation, treatment and neutralisation techniques to render materials safe for disposal.

Working within a controlled industrial environment, you will play an important role in ensuring chemical waste is handled, treated and processed safely, efficiently and in accordance with environmental and health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Process wet and dry chemical waste streams using established procedures.


• Undertake chemical separation and neutralisation processes.


• Operate processing equipment and associated machinery.


• Monitor processing activities and ensure correct operating procedures are followed.


• Safely handle, transfer and segregate different chemical materials.


• Operate an FLT Counterbalance truck to move materials and waste containers.


• Complete relevant process documentation and operational records.


• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace safety.


• Identify and report any process irregularities or potential safety concerns.

What We're Looking For

• A recognised Chemical Processing qualification at Level 1 or Level 2.


• A valid FLT Counterbalance licence.


• Previous experience in chemical processing, chemical manufacturing, waste treatment or a similar industrial environment.


• An understanding of chemical handling, separation and neutralisation processes.


• Knowledge of COSHH and safe handling procedures for hazardous substances.


• The ability to follow technical instructions and standard operating procedures.


• A responsible, methodical approach to working safely.
