MTrec Ltd in the United Kingdom is recruiting a permanent Chemical Process Engineer to strengthen the engineering team as part of their 2026 initiative. The role focuses on KPI management, process improvement, and Lean manufacturing across designated plant areas.

The successful candidate will have a science or engineering degree and chemical industry experience, with a proactive approach to coaching shift leaders and driving safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Degree in science or engineering-related discipline.
• Experience in chemical industry in process/asset management.
• Willing to undergo drug and alcohol pre-employment screening.
• Good communication with internal departments.
• Well organized, able to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage and report KPIs; continuously improve plant performance.
• Create and maintain docs to define safe operating envelope.
• Champion Lean Manufacturing within the plant area (5S, TPM, Kaizen).
• Develop and implement plant improvement strategy and Asset Life Plan.
• Coach Shift Operations Leaders; ensure operator competence.
• Collaborate with daily shift leaders to meet targets.
• Delegate tasks to maximise team potential.
• Support coaching of operators and technicians within plant areas.
• Provide asset performance feedback to Production Manager.
• Apply lean principles to ensure safe behaviours, housekeeping, and output targets.
