Moog Wolverhampton Limited is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to support plating and chemical film operations within aerospace surface treatment. You will work with experienced engineers and operators to maintain safe, compliant and efficient processes.

The role focuses on NADCAP readiness, process controls, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement, with mentoring and training, and opportunities to own processes.

Qualifications

• Understanding of Excel and data analysis.
• Experience with plating or surface treatments is a plus.
• Knowledge of aerospace quality standards is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop chemical surface treatment processes including plating and passivation.
• Drive NADCAP audit readiness and coordinate evidence gathering.
• Monitor process controls: bath composition, dosing, filtration, temperature, agitation.
• Investigate issues using root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Create and maintain process docs, work instructions, control plans.
• Train and coach production teams with technical support.
• Support EH&S compliance for chemical handling and waste management.
• Lead continuous improvement on quality, efficiency, waste reduction.

What You'll Be Doing Support and develop chemical surface treatment processes including plating, passivation, chromating, phosphating, blasting, and cleaning operations. Help drive NADCAP audit readiness, coordinate evidence gathering, and support the closure of audit findings and corrective actions. Monitor and maintain process controls including chemical bath composition, dosing, filtration, temperature, and agitation to ensure consistent product quality. Investigate process and quality issues using root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventative actions. Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, control plans, and operating procedures. Partner with production teams to provide training, coaching, and technical support. Support environmental, health, and safety compliance relating to chemical handling and waste management. Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, waste reduction, and process capability.

What We're Looking For We're interested in candidates with a technical or engineering background who are eager to learn and develop in a specialist manufacturing environment. You'll ideally have: An HNC/HND, degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Previous exposure to manufacturing, metal finishing, plating, surface treatments, or process engineering. An understanding of basic analytical techniques such as pH testing, conductivity measurement, or titration. Strong problem-solving skills and a data-driven approach. Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills. Good communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across production and engineering teams. Confidence using Excel and other computer-based systems. Desirable Experience Aerospace manufacturing experience. Knowledge of AS9100 or aerospace quality standards. Exposure to NADCAP audits or compliance activities. Experience with plating thickness measurement, adhesion testing, or corrosion testing. Knowledge of environmental compliance and hazardous material handling.
