Job summary

Agilent is seeking a motivated Chemical Manufacturing Technician at the Church Stretton Centre of Excellence. You will work on large-scale chemical processes, assisting in the production of materials used in life science and diagnostics worldwide.

Training program starts immediately; you will follow ISO 9001:2015 standards, maintain high quality and safety, and contribute to continuous improvement. Based in Church Stretton, with access to regional transport links.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or relevant manufacturing/lab experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
• Willingness to learn and work safely under ISO 9001:2015 standards.

Responsibilities

• Undergo comprehensive training and assist in large-scale chemical manufacturing processes.
• Prepare, calibrate, and set up equipment and raw materials for production activities.
• Operate and monitor production processes and document deviations.
• Manufacture and process products per documented procedures.
• Maintain quality, housekeeping and safety standards in the production area.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and product quality.

The Church Stretton Chemistries Centre of Excellence

The Church Stretton Chemistries Centre of Excellence specializes in the design and manufacture of silica and polymeric particles for diagnostics, solid-phase synthesis, and chromatographic applications. Our products support a wide range of industries including biopharmaceuticals, diagnostics, food safety, environmental testing, academia, chemicals, and advanced materials.

We are seeking a motivated and hands‑on Chemical Manufacturing Technician to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work with large-scale chemical manufacturing processes, producing specialist materials used in life science and analytical applications worldwide.

What You'll Do:

Following comprehensive training, your key responsibilities will include:

• Working in accordance with Health & Safety and Quality Management System requirements (ISO 9001:2015)
• Preparing, calibrating, and setting up equipment and raw materials for production activities
• Operating and monitoring large-scale chemical manufacturing processes
• Manufacturing and processing products in accordance with documented procedures
• Accurately recording production activities, material movements, and process deviations
• Maintaining high standards of quality, housekeeping, and safety within the production environment
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who enjoys practical, hands‑on work and has an interest in chemical manufacturing.

You will ideally have:

• A degree in Chemistry or relevant experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment
• Strong practical skills and attention to detail
• The ability to follow procedures accurately and maintain high quality standards
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn

Previous experience with large-scale chemical processes in a manufacturing or laboratory setting is advantageous but not essential. With the right attitude, practical skills, and attention to detail, our comprehensive training programme will ensure your success.
