Job summary

TOCA Social UK Limited in London is seeking a part-time Chef to oversee the heart of our kitchen and deliver exceptional guest experiences. You will collaborate with colleagues to prepare and plate TOCA Social dishes, maintain cleanliness and high food quality, and assist other departments during events to ensure smooth operations.

You will work evenings and weekends at TOCA Social Westfield White City, with training and progression opportunities as the business grows.

Qualifications

• Punctual and reliable with great attitude and work ethic.

• Roll up sleeves and help out other departments.
• Food Safety Level 2 qualification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support teammates across the kitchen with preparation and delivery of TOCA Social dishes.
• Maintain high kitchen cleanliness standards and ensure food quality and presentation.
• Collaborate with venue teammates to exceed guest expectations.
• Escalate maintenance issues to leadership as needed.
• Store and label all products correctly.
• Adhere to TOCA Social standards and regulatory guidelines (Health & Safety, Food Safety, Allergy processes).
• Communicate clearly and warmly with teammates throughout the venue.
• Support kitchen and venue during events and assist other departments as required.
• Mentor junior team members to develop skills.
• Monitor stock levels and ensure proper storage and labeling.
• Work with Head Chef to minimize wastage and follow portion controls.
• Identify opportunities to exceed guest expectations in a positive way.
• Be flexible to cover a range of duties according to business needs.

Job Highlights:

Location: TOCA Social, Westfield White City, W12 7GD

Reports to: Area Head Chef

Hours Required: Minimum of 10 or 15 hours per week. Candidates must be flexible to work evenings and weekends.

The dynamic role of a Chef means no 2 days are the same at TOCA Social! You are responsible for bringing together multiple elements of our guests' journey together to deliver memorable experiences! We’re passionate about training and developing all our teammates to support their career progression and help them become legends, so you may receive training within other departments to support the venue as and when necessary!

Role Scope & Responsibilities:

We’re looking for a Chef who will ensure the smooth running of our Heart of House operations to create exceptional guest experiences through your passion for creating delicious dishes. Some of your responsibilities include:

• Supporting your teammates across the kitchen with the preparation and delivery of TOCA Social dishes
• Ensuring high kitchen standards at all times, including high cleanliness standards and ensuring food quality and presentation is always at the hear of your work
• Working closely with your teammates and wider venue teammates to exceed guest expectations
• Escalating any maintenance issues to your leader
• Ensuring all products are stored and labelled correctly
• Adhering to all TOCA Social standards and guidelines as well as statutory regulations e.g. Health & Safety, Food Safety and Allergy processes
• Ensuring your communicate in a clear, warm and friendly manner to all teammates within the venue
• Supporting the kitchen and wider venue during events
• Being a team player who’s ready to support other departments as needed
• Supporting junior members of the team to develop their skills
• Monitoring stock levels, ensuring everything is always maintained and correctly stored and labelled
• Working closely with the Head Chef to ensure minimum wastage and following portion control guidelines
• Having an eye for opportunity to exceed expectations in a positive, surprising and delightful manner
• Being flexible in covering a range of duties in line with business needs when required

Qualifications & Experience:

• A punctual and reliable individual with a great attitude and work ethic!

• Someone who is ready to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in (and help out other departments and teammates!)
• Food Safety Level 2 qualified (ideally but not a deal breaker)
• Experience working within a kitchen as a Chef, Kitchen Assistant or similar
