Job summary

KM Recruitment is seeking a Chef Trainer / Assessor (Trainee or Qualified) based remotely with travel across Kent and Essex. This is a full-time, permanent role with a starting salary of £29,000, progressing to £30,000 plus bonus.

The position blends online delivery with on-site employer visits and practical chef training. You will train and assess learners on the Chef/Senior Culinary Apprenticeship up to Level 4, support Functional Skills, and manage your diary to ensure timely reviews.

Qualifications

• Must have experience working as Head Chef or Sous Chef.
• Experience of cooking from scratch.
• Confident to support learners with Functional Skills.
• Excellent communicator focused on learner quality.
• Strong organisational skills and time management.
• Professional with ability to inspire and motivate.
• Hold a full, clean UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
• Flexible with travel requirements.

Responsibilities

• Train, assess and deliver Chef/Senior Culinary Apprenticeship Qualifications up to Level 4.
• Hybrid role including online delivery, employer site visits, and classroom chef training.
• Support learners to achieve Functional Skills Maths and English to level 2.
• Manage your diary to ensure timely visits and reviews.
• Organise and maintain documentation on learners’ progress.
• Support, advise and motivate learners.
• Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learner needs.
