Job summary

The Opportunity Provider Ltd (TOP) is hiring a Chef Trainer to mentor and train apprentices across Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. You will travel regularly, delivering practical kitchen instruction, maths and English context, and support employers with progress reporting.

Ideal candidates bring Chef de Partie or higher experience, a Level 3 culinary qualification, and comfort with Google Suite; generous benefits accompany a flexible schedule with home-based work days.

• Professional culinary qualification Level 3 Chef De Partie or equivalent.
• GCSE English and Maths (Level 2) or willingness to achieve).

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on training at the Chef Academy.
• Personalise learning plans to suit each apprentice’s needs.

Salary: From £29,000 + tax-free bonus | Location: Hybrid (covering the Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire area) | Role: Chef Trainer

Are you an experienced chef ready for something new? Join The Opportunity Provider, an award-winning training provider, as a Chef Trainer. Enjoy the rewarding experience of sharing your skills with apprentices and shaping the culinary future. You’ll work Monday to Friday, with a mix of home flexibility and workplace visits, offering a better work-life balance.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Guiding apprentices at all levels, helping them develop their skills and confidence in the kitchen.
• Supporting apprentices at our award-winning Chef Academy. Providing hands-on training in essential techniques.
• Personalising learning plans to suit each apprentice’s needs, ensuring they have the tools to thrive.
• Demonstrating how functional skills like maths and English fit into the culinary world.
• Building relationships with employers and updating them on their apprentices’ progress.
• Managing administrative tasks and planning effectively using Google Suite and other systems.

A typical week will include at least 3 days of travel within your area to visit apprentices, with the rest of your time spent working from home.

What You'll Need to Bring:

• Demonstrable experience as a Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, Head Chef, or Kitchen Manager.
• Minimum of 3 years of Sous Chef experience in fine dining establishments
• A professional culinary qualification Level 3 Chef De Partie or similar
• Confidence with technology and good organisational skills.
• Level 2 (GCSE) qualification in English and maths (or a willingness to achieve this).
• A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle for travel within your region.
