Job summary

Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a catering operative to manage food production within the food services department at North View Hospital. You will cook to set standards, portion and document production, and ensure HACCP compliance while supporting a team when senior staff are off site.

The role involves 37.5 hours per week across a 6:00 to 19:00 shift pattern, 5 days in 7 including weekends, with enhancements for unsociable hours.

Qualifications

• Cook food in line with recipes and production methods to meet standards.
• Complete production documentation accurately.
• Report deficiencies in food production, quality, or temperature audits.
• Ensure correct labeling and storage to prevent cross-contamination.
• Adhere to HACCP and catering policy requirements, including dietary needs.

Responsibilities

• General production work across kitchen sections.
• Develop relationships with managers and ward/service managers.
• Assist in preparation, cooking and dispatch of meals, including special dietary needs and allergies.
