Job summary

Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Chef Supervisor at North View Hospital. The role involves supervising kitchen production, cooking to standards, and ensuring HACCP compliance while supporting the catering team.

It requires working 37.5 hours per week across 06:00–19:00, five days over seven, with weekend shifts and enhancements for unsociable hours. You may need to assist other units.

Responsibilities

• Cook food following recipes and standards.
• Portion food according to procedures.
• Complete production documentation as required.
• Report deficiencies in food production, quality and temperature audit.
• Ensure food is stored correctly when not handled.
• Label and store all food to prevent cross contamination.
• Ensure HACCP is followed with all food items.
• Meet the Trust catering policy and dietetic requirements.
• Assist in controlling and monitoring food waste.
• Perform general production work in all kitchen sections.
• Develop relationships with managers and ward/service managers.
• Assist in preparation, cooking and dispatch of meals with special dietary needs or allergies.
