Job summary

Caterlink is hiring a Chef Manager for Parkgate Junior School in Watford. The role is term-time only, 28.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 38 weeks per year, with a pay rate of £14.50 per hour.

You will lead food preparation, ensure health and safety compliance, manage inventories and budgets, and act as the main client contact at the school. You will supervise kitchen teams, drive training, monitor KPIs and financial targets, and strive for excellent food and service.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a school-site catering operation.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety and Food Safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present meals to Caterlink and client standards.
• Oversee daily running of the school kitchen and supervise staff.
• Monitor inventories and budgets and implement action plans.
• Maintain regular contact with the client to ensure KPI and targets are met.
• Lead, train and develop teams to achieve high standards of service.
