Compass Group UK is recruiting a Chef Manager for our Brooker site. You will lead a busy, 24-hour catering operation serving hundreds daily and manage a team of 10, driving high-quality food offerings and strict compliance with safety and hygiene standards.

The role focuses on menu planning, stock control, waste reduction, and labour management, with a strong emphasis on client satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience leading catering/service teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of food safety and HACCP guidelines.
• Proven ability to manage costs, waste and labour effectively.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operation of a 24-hour catering facility serving 400-500 covers daily across breakfast, lunch, evening and night services.
• Lead a team of 10, including an Assistant Chef and General Assistants.
• Deliver a high-quality food offer including mains, salads, breakfasts, and snacks.
• Oversee menu planning, food safety, Health & Safety, stock control, and compliance.
• Drive profit protection through waste reduction, cost control and labour management.
• Maintain excellent service standards and client satisfaction while ensuring operational efficiency.

Salary: £38,000 per annum

Shift Pattern: Predominantly Monday-Friday with occasional weekends

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operation of a 24-hour catering facility serving 400-500 covers daily across breakfast, lunch, evening, and night services.
• Lead a team of 10, including an Assistant Chef and General Assistants.
• Deliver a high-quality food offer including mains, salads, breakfasts, and snacks.
