Job Opportunity: Chef Manager at Aspens Services Ltd

Aspens Services Ltd is a market-leading contract catering company specialising in school food. We combine our understanding of the education sector with current food trends to create exciting and creative kitchens, providing fantastic food experiences for children.

Due to our successful growth, we are seeking an experienced Chef Manager to join our team and oversee our school catering facilities.

The Role:

As the Chef Manager, you will have full operational and financial responsibility for your school's catering services, focusing on delivering high-quality food and service, and making your catering offer one of the best in the area.

Your Responsibilities:
  1. Lead, develop, coach, train, and motivate your kitchen team.
  2. Manage all aspects of the catering operation, including stock, food, and labour costs.
  3. Ensure consistent food and service standards for students and staff.
  4. Drive sales through promotions and value-added events.
  5. Control and improve costs.
  6. Maintain company systems, procedures, and compliance with legislation.
  7. Conduct regular audits to ensure standards are met.
About You:

We are looking for someone passionate about delivering exceptional food and service in a school environment, with the following skills and experience:

  1. OND or HND qualification (not essential but advantageous).
  2. Experience using fresh ingredients in craft-based cooking.
  3. Knowledge of health and safety practices.
  4. Financial understanding of gross profit management and sales targets.
  5. Experience in a similar environment.
