Job summary

Gather + Gather is recruiting a Chef Manager for our Arla site in Lockerbie. This role leads a busy workplace catering operation delivering 100-150 covers daily, with a focus on seasonal menus, quality and client satisfaction.

You will manage a small team of 3, ensure food safety and health & safety compliance, and drive costs, stock control and supplier relationships while maintaining high service standards and great guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Must have a driving licence and own transport.
• Experience leading a small catering team in a high-volume site.
• Strong focus on quality, safety and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day catering operations for 100–150 covers daily.
• Deliver seasonal, high-quality food in line with brand standards.
• Manage a team of 3, providing coaching and support.
• Oversee kitchen operations, hygiene, and safety compliance.
• Control stock, orders, suppliers and waste to meet budgets.
• Maintain excellent customer service and client relations.
• Develop seasonal menus and monitor food and labour costs.

Salary:

£38,000 per annum

Location:

Arla, Lockerbie

Shift Pattern:

Monday-Friday, 7:00-15:00, 40 hours per week

Requirements:

Due to the location, driving licence and vehicle is essential

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the day-to-day management of a busy workplace catering operation, serving 100-150 covers per day.
• Deliver a high-quality, seasonal food offer in line with CH&CO brand standards, ensuring excellent presentation, taste, and customer satisfaction.
• Oversee the preparation and service of a varied food offer including full breakfast, soup of the day, main course, vegetarian dish, grab & go, hot snacks, home baking, toasties, and pizza.
• Manage and develop a team of 3 staff members, providing training, coaching, and support to maintain high performance.
• Take full accountability for kitchen operations, food safety, health & safety compliance, and hygiene standards.
• Manage stock control, ordering, supplier relationships, and waste management to achieve budget and profit targets.
• Ensure excellent customer service standards are maintained throughout the operation and build strong client relationships.
• Produce menus and food offers that are seasonal, innovative, and commercially successful while meeting customer requirements.
• Monitor food and labour costs, driving efficiencies while maintaining quality and service standards.
• Work flexibly across shifts as required by the needs of the business.
