Brendoncare is seeking a Chef at Brendoncare Stildon to prepare nutritious meals for residents, manage stock, and lead a small catering team. The role requires experience in commercial cooking and familiarity with HACCP/COSHH.

You will support menu planning with residents and ensure high hygiene standards on a daily basis. The position offers a 40-hour week, £18.61 per hour, free meals on shift, free parking, uniform provided, and ongoing training within a charitable care environment.

Qualifications

• Essential: Level 2 Food Safety Qualification (need Level 3 during probation)
• Commercial cooking experience
• Competent in IT software including Excel, Word and Outlook
• Knowledge of Health and Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene, HACCP and COSHH
• Experience in care home catering or for older/vulnerable adults preferred

Responsabilités

• Meal preparation.
• Prepare nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.
• Cook for about 45 residents daily.
• Cater staff meals and additional catering for guests and relatives.
• Order and manage stock.
• Create seasonal menus with resident input.
• Oversee catering rota management.
• Oversee catering team training.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness.
• Ensure COSHH standards are exceeded.
• Complete HACCP records.

At Brendoncare Stildon, we are now looking for a Chef to join our ranks to help us provide the best quality meals for our residents, suited to their individual needs.

The role includes:

• Meal preparation
• Preparing nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks appropriate for individual needs including consistency levels for swallowing
• Cooking for approximately 45 people per day
• Catering for staff meals, and additional catering requirements for guests, visitors and relatives of residents
• Ordering and stock control
• Prepare seasonal menus with residents' input
• Oversight of catering rota management
• Oversight of catering team training
• Maintaining kitchen cleanliness
• Ensure COSHH standards are exceeded
• HACCP record completion

Essential requirements to apply:

• Level 2 Food Safety Qualification (with the requirement to complete Level 3 during initial probation period)
• Commercial cooking experience
• Competent in IT software including Excel, Word and Outlook
• Knowledge of Health and Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene, HACCP and COSHH legislation and its application
• Priority will be given to applicants with experience of working in a Care Home setting or experience of catering for older/vulnerable adults with an understanding of their dietary and nutritional needs
