Job summary

Bull Hotel in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, is seeking a Chef (Commis/CDP) to join a small brigade in our 40-hour contract kitchen. The role supports Restaurant, Bars, Room Service and Meetings & Events with fresh, high-quality food and a passion for culinary excellence.

Live-in is available in London, UK. We welcome chefs with NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation and a strong eye for detail, capable of handling high-volume functions and weddings.

Qualifications

• Minimum of NVQ food preparation Level 2 qualification or equivalent.
• Imagination and eye for detail with experience delivering high-quality fresh a la carte and buffet food.
• Passion for cooking and desire to learn and develop skills.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and hygiene regimes.
• Understanding of food costs and controls.
• Punctuality, reliability and a can-do attitude.
• Ability to work in a team in a busy environment, sometimes under pressure with self-motivation and the ability to motivate others.
• Flexibility to work on a rota basis across seven days, mornings and evenings as required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a professional kitchen, preparing and presenting high quality dishes made with fresh foods.
• Work on all sections as required and maintain standards of product and service, ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Help to control departmental expenses including food costs and wages, in line with business levels.
• Implement and monitor Health & Safety and hygiene practices and procedures.
• Motivate, coach and train junior team members.
• Work with team to ensure smooth service and high team morale.
