Job summary

Lodestone House, part of Compass Group UK & Ireland, seeks an experienced Chef de Partie to join our catering team at Tonbridge School. You will lead your kitchen section, cook fresh meals to high standards and work with a skilled brigade in a busy school environment.

You’ll use quality ingredients, follow HACCP and food-safety procedures, and contribute to menu ideas while supporting colleagues during peak service periods.

Qualifications

• CDP with strong background in professional kitchens.
• Passionate about fresh food, quality ingredients and presentation.
• Able to run a kitchen section and keep high standards under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Run your section to a consistently high standard.
• Prepare, cook and present fresh food to quality, presentation and portion specifications.
• Ensure all dishes meet recipes and food safety standards.
• Support development of menus and new ideas.
• Train and develop Commis Chefs and Kitchen Assistants.
• Manage storage and minimise waste.
• Assist with orders, deliveries and stock rotation.
• Maintain cleanliness and safe use of equipment.

Lodestone House, part of Compass Group UK & Ireland, are now recruiting for an experienced Chef de Partie to join our catering team at Tonbridge School.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team at one of the UK's leading independent schools, working alongside experienced chefs to deliver high-quality food and exceptional service to pupils, staff and guests.

We are looking for a talented and passionate Chef de Partie who takes pride in using fresh ingredients, has excellent culinary skills and enjoys working as part of a professional kitchen team.

You will play an important role in delivering a high-quality food offer, taking responsibility for your section while supporting the wider kitchen team to maintain consistently high standards.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

• Running your section of the kitchen to a consistently high standard
• Preparing, cooking and presenting fresh food to the required quality, presentation and portion specifications
• Ensuring all dishes are prepared and served in line with recipes and food safety standards
• Supporting the development of menus and new food ideas
• Assisting with the training and development of Commis Chefs and Kitchen Assistants
• Ensuring food is stored correctly and working to minimise food waste
• Assisting with food ordering, deliveries and stock rotation
• Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness across the kitchen and surrounding areas
• Ensuring the correct and safe use of kitchen equipment and machinery
• Following all company and client Health & Safety, Food Safety and allergen procedures
• Working closely with the wider brigade to ensure smooth and efficient food service
• Supporting the team during busy service periods and maintaining high standards under pressure

WHO YOU ARE:

• An experienced Chef de Partie / CDP with a strong background in professional kitchens
• Passionate about fresh food, quality ingredients and excellent presentation
• A confident Chef with strong culinary skills and attention to detail
• Experienced in running a section within a busy kitchen environment
• Able to work effectively as part of a professional kitchen brigade
• Knowledgeable about Food Safety, HACCP, allergens and Health & Safety
• Organised, reliable and able to work well under pressure
• Passionate about developing your skills and keeping up with current food trends
• A positive team player with excellent communication skills
• Committed to delivering exceptional food and service
• Professional in appearance, attitude and approach
