Job summary

Nottingham Forest is seeking a skilled chef to join the First Team Catering team at The Nigel Doughty Academy, Nottingham. You will work alongside our Chefs to prepare high quality, nutritious dishes, ensuring consistency, freshness and presentation to specification.

With at least 4 years experience, Level 2 Food Safety and COSHH awareness, you will supervise Commis Chefs, help develop menus, manage portions and uphold food safety standards.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 | 706/2 Catering or NVQ Level 2.
• Level 2 Food Safety Award.
• Minimum 4 years relevant experience.
• COSHH awareness and chemical safety knowledge.
• Experience with kitchen equipment and knives.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, cooking and presenting high quality nutritious dishes to specification.
• Assisting Head Performance Chef in creating menu items.
• Preparing carbohydrates, vegetables, vegetarian dishes, protein (meat and fish).
• Assisting with health and safety management and food hygiene practices.
• Managing and training Commis Chefs.
• Monitoring portion and waste control.
• Overseeing kitchen and food safety standards.
