Our Chef de Parties
Working with our state-of-the-art equipment, our chefs are some of the most passionate and inspirational in the South West. A focus is always on our food - ensuring each dish is as beautiful as the next, with the flavours of each component being highlighted to their full potential. Dishes are always fresh and seasonal, with our chefs using produce both from our Estate garden team and our trusted local suppliers.
Our CDPs play a crucial role in our kitchen. The day-to-day duties of each section will be your responsibility, and commis chefs will look to you for guidance and development.
Previous experience in high-end food preparation and a passion for seasonal produce is a must.
Our Restaurants
The Botanical Rooms
Showcasing the best of high-end, contemporary British food, The Botanical Rooms offers a luxurious experience for our diners. All dishes are created using produce from the estate and our local suppliers, served in our beautiful 60-cover restaurant.
The Farmyard Kitchen
The Farmyard, a reimagined dairy nestled in the rolling Somerset hillside, our newest hotel project which houses 17 beautiful guest rooms within a renovated farmhouse with outbuildings. The Farmyard boasts a swimming pool, games room, honesty bar, and a 40-cover restaurant. Open for breakfast through dinner, using the finest produce from the estate, cooked in a wood-fired oven, with our chefs serving straight to the table. Seasonally led, hearty yet humble sharing dishes with carafes of wine served in a beautiful stone barn, with relaxed yet high-end service and an open kitchen.
The Creamery
Based at Castle Cary train station, The Creamery Restaurant welcomes visitors to this part of Somerset and wave passengers off on journeys around the UK. The café serves a small menu of brasserie classics that highlight the craftsmanship of local producers, leaning on classic cooking methods for quintessential dishes with a Somerset focus.
Estate Kitchen - Daytime Hours
Our Visitor Attraction encompasses all of our gardens, exhibitions, woodland walks, and eateries, open daily to our hotel guests and members. Key food offerings include The Cyder Bar, The Roman Villa, and Estate BBQs.
