Job summary

Sodexo is recruiting a Chef de Partie for Nuffield Health Woking Hospital. You will manage a kitchen section, preparing quality meals to support patient wellbeing and dining experiences in a fast-paced environment.

You will work a 5-day rota across weekends, with shifts that vary by weekday and weekend. The role includes uniform, free meals on shift and on-site parking as part of Sodexo benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Chef de Partie in a professional kitchen.
• Solid knowledge of food hygiene, safety and regulatory standards.
• Ability to prepare high-quality meals under pressure in a busy environment.
• Positive, team-focused approach with good communication and service skills.
• Understanding of dietary, allergen and nutritional requirements, or willingness to learn.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to minimise food waste.
• Flexibility to work a rota including weekends and support the wider catering team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present meals for patients, staff and hospitality services following recipes and standards.
• Ensure on-time delivery while meeting dietary and allergen requirements.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness in line with regulations.
• Complete daily food safety records, temperature checks and cleaning schedules.
• Assist with stock checks, rotation of dates and kitchen cleanliness.
• Provide friendly, professional service to patients, visitors and colleagues.
• Collaborate with catering and ward teams and cover kitchen duties on weekends when required.

• Shift Pattern: 5 days out of 7 | working alternate weekends
• Shift Times: When working Mon-Fri theshifts are 11 am - 7 pm. | When working the weekend it’sMon-Weds 7 am -
• 2:00 pm, Sat 7 am - 7 pm and Sun 7 am - 2:00 pm

What you’ll do:

• Prepare, cook and present high-quality meals for patients, staff and hospitality services, following agreed recipes and standards.
• Ensure meals are delivered on time while meeting individual dietary and allergen requirements.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness, following all company and legal regulations.
• Complete daily food safety records, including temperature checks, cleaning schedules and food waste reporting.
• Support the smooth running of the kitchen, including cleaning equipment, checking food stock and rotating dates.
• Provide a friendly, professional and welcoming service to patients, visitors and colleagues.
• Work collaboratively with the catering and ward teams, taking responsibility for the kitchen when required, including alternate weekends.

What you bring:

• Experience working as a Chef de Partie or in a similar professional kitchen environment.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene, food safety and health and safety regulations.
• The ability to prepare high-quality meals while working efficiently in a busy environment.
• A positive, team-focused approach with excellent communication and customer service skills.
• An understanding of special dietary, allergen and nutritional requirements, or a willingness to learn.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to keep accurate records and minimise food waste.
• Flexibility to work a rota that includes weekends and to support the wider catering team when needed.
