The Orangery at Victoria Square Hotel | Stirling
From £30,000 per year + tips | 40 hours per week | Full-time, permanent
Victoria Square Hotel is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Chef de Partie to join the kitchen team at The Orangery, our AA Rosette-awarded restaurant in the heart of Stirling.
We are an independent five-star boutique hotel and restaurant with ambitious plans for the future, and we are looking for a chef who takes genuine pride in their food, enjoys working with quality seasonal ingredients and wants to continue developing their career within a supportive kitchen.
The Orangery offers relaxed, refined dining with a strong focus on quality Scottish produce, seasonality and cooking as much as possible in-house.
We operate with a smaller brigade, which means our chefs have the opportunity to work across different sections of the kitchen rather than becoming restricted to one area.
It also gives us the opportunity to focus on the detail, consistency and quality of every dish that leaves the kitchen.
As Chef de Partie, you will take ownership of your section while working closely with our wider kitchen team to deliver consistently high standards across our food offering.
You will:
We would love to hear from chefs who:
Previous experience within an AA Rosette, Michelin-listed or other quality-focused kitchen would be an advantage, but it is not essential for the right person.
One of the things we are determined to build at Victoria Square is a positive working environment with a genuine work-life balance.
A 40-hour contract should not mean routinely working 50 or 60+ hours every week.
This position is based on an actual 40-hour working week, because we want talented people to be able to build successful careers in hospitality while still having a life outside of work.
That philosophy is also reflected in our decision to close Victoria Square on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, giving our whole team the opportunity to enjoy a well-earned festive break with their friends and families.
For an ambitious chef, we want there to be a clear pathway through:
Chef de Partie → Senior Chef de Partie → Junior Sous Chef → Sous Chef
We would much rather develop and promote talented people from within the business wherever possible.
