Job summary

ABode Canterbury is seeking a Chef De Partie to join our passionate kitchen team on Canterbury High Street. You will work the CDP section, contribute to creating fresh dishes for guests, and learn from our senior chefs.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar hotel/kitchen environment.
• Ability to work as part of a team and under pressure.
• Willingness to learn and develop under senior chefs.
• Must keep up to date with allergen training.

Responsibilities

• Work with fresh food, turning it into delicious dishes for guests.
• Run your own section of the kitchen as a CDP.
• Share knowledge with junior KP’s and Commis coming into the industry.
• Keep the kitchen clean and maintain high hygiene standards.
• Label food clearly and prevent waste.

Job description

Location ABode Canterbury is a stylish, four AA star 72-bedroom boutique hotel on Canterbury High Street, which houses our own restaurant brand, Brasserie ABode. For the commuters, Canterbury East and West train stations are just a few minutes’ walk away. SERVICE CHARGE-We pay our team service charge each month! This service charge all goes into one pot, and 100% of that service charge is then shared amongst all the team at the hotel-every penny received is paid out to the team. Service charge can be in the region of £115 a month (around £1375 per year) over and above base pay for a full time employee.

• Our CDP’s run their own section of the kitchen.
• As a skilled chef, you’ll get to really put those knife skills to the test, whilst learning new skills from our senior chefs along the way.
• We want to keep everyone safe, so you’ll need to keep up to date with the latest allergen training.
• Being one team, everyone in the kitchen is responsible for keeping it clean.
• Nobody wants out of date food, so labelling your food is important.
• As an experienced chef, we encourage you to share your knowledge with new, budding KP’s and Commis coming into the industry.
