Job summary

Compass Group UK&I is hiring a Chef/Cook on a zero-hours, permanent casual basis for Defence operations in the UK. You will prepare high-quality food, lead menu changes, and support creative concepts while upholding hygiene and safety standards.

The role emphasizes flexibility, strong customer service, and brand representation across multiple sites. The ideal candidate holds City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent, has experience supervising teams, and possesses a Food Hygiene certificate.

Qualifications

• Must have Food Hygiene certificate.
• Experience supervising a team.
• Experience in a similar Chef role.
• Hold City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality food that delights clients and customers.
• Oversee and implement menu changes.
• Identify opportunities to improve food services.
• Listen to customer feedback to improve services.
• Assist with creating new menus and concepts.
• Represent Defence and maintain a positive brand image.
• Monitor inventories to keep kitchens stocked.
• Oversee kitchen cleaning to maintain hygiene.
• Comply with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health & Safety regulations.
