Job summary

Marie Curie in Cardiff is seeking a compassionate Chef to join the Facilities team on a permanent, full-time basis. You will support the kitchen during annual leave, sickness or busy periods, preparing nutritious, home-cooked meals for patients, visitors, volunteers and colleagues.

The role is 37.5 hours weekly, with 7am-3pm or 11am-7pm shifts, based at Cardiff and the Vale Hospice; NVQ Level 2 is essential and healthcare catering experience is welcome but not required.

• Strong cooking skills with the ability to prepare varied, high‑quality menus.
• A caring, adaptable approach and excellent customer service.

Job Description

We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated Chef to join our Facilities team on permanent basis, supporting our kitchen during periods of annual leave, sickness, or increased service demand. You’ll help prepare nutritious, home‑cooked meals for patients, visitors, volunteers, and colleagues contributing directly to the warm, supportive atmosphere our hospice is known for.

Salary

Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 3 (aligned with AFC) £26,300 - £27,890 per annum + Enhancements

Contract

Permanent, Full Time. 37.5 hours per week, weekend work required on a rota.

Shift pattern

7am-3pm or 11am-7pm.
