Job summary

Barchester Healthcare in Fareham is seeking a qualified Bank Chef for casual, part-time shifts with flexible working. You will assist the Head Chef in delivering hotel/restaurant standards while avoiding split shifts and long weeks.

You will work with residents to tailor nutritious, flavoursome menus and lead a kitchen team in a warm, welcoming environment. We value a personable approach, experience with fresh seasonal food, nutrition awareness, and HACCP knowledge.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds / NVQ / SVQ or equivalent required.
• Experience leading and inspiring a team.
• Good understanding of nutrition and HACCP.
• Experience working with fresh seasonal food.

Responsibilities

• Help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
• Prepare and deliver high quality dishes using fresh seasonal produce.
• Assist in creating warm, welcoming environments for residents.
• Work within budget and manage stock control.
• Conduct regular audits and ensure food safety standards.
• Lead and motivate the kitchen team to deliver hospitality-level service.

Are you a qualified chef looking to work with fresh seasonal food, with the opportunity to have more of a work life balance and make what you do matter?

This is a casual, part-time role offering flexible working. Working as a Bank Chef at Barchester, you will have the chance to deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the split shifts and long weeks. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well balanced menus whilst working with residents to tailor menus around them. NEED TO HAVE

• A personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of residents
• Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent
• Experience in helping lead and inspire a team
• A good understanding of nutrition
• Experience of working with fresh seasonal food
• The ability to create a warm and welcoming environment within our home
• Good understanding of HACCP
