Job summary

Barchester Healthcare Homes Limited is seeking a qualified chef for a casual, part-time Bank Chef role in the UK. Deliver hotel/restaurant standards using fresh seasonal produce, with no split shifts and opportunities for better work-life balance.

You will tailor menus for residents and support the Head Chef to uphold high-quality dishes. Join a respected provider delivering person-centred hospitality across 260+ homes, with ongoing development and a warm kitchen culture.

Qualifications

• Qualified chef with City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent.
• Experience leading a kitchen team.
• Good understanding of nutrition and HACCP principles.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Chef in their absence.
• Prepare and deliver high-quality dishes using fresh seasonal produce.
• Help create a warm, efficient and welcoming kitchen environment.
• Work within budget and manage stock and audits.

Job description

Are you a qualified chef looking to work with fresh seasonal food, with the opportunity to have more of a work life balance and make what you do matter?

This is a casual, part-time role offering flexible working. Working as a Bank Chef at Barchester, you will have the chance to deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the split shifts and long weeks. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well balanced menus whilst working with residents to tailor menus around them. NEED TO HAVE

• A personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of residents
• Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent
• Experience in helping lead and inspire a team
• A good understanding of nutrition
• Experience of working with fresh seasonal food
• The ability to create a warm and welcoming environment within our home
• Good understanding of HACCP

• Help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
• Work fresh produce to deliver high quality and wholesome dishes cooked at the highest quality and standards
