Job summary

Aramark UK is seeking a Chef – Cook with Passion, Lead with Purpose at Woolwich Barracks, London. You will prepare meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, deliver high-quality dining for events, and coach junior staff.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 1/Level 2 or equivalent required.
• Experience as a chef and strong teamwork.
• Flexibility and ability to innovate.
• UK residency for the past 3 years and ability to pass DBS checks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with minimal wastage.
• Deliver fine dining for functions and hospitality events.
• Support and coach new team members on kitchen standards and procedures.
• Follow recipe cards and maintain food quality.
• Assist with stock checks, food orders, and kitchen records.
• Monitor temperatures and complete due diligence paperwork.
• Help with daily and weekly kitchen deep cleans.

Location: Woolwich Barracks, London, SE18 4BB
Pay rate: £13.90 per hour
Contract type: Permanent, zero-hours
Shift times: As needed

As a Chef at Woolwich Barracks, you'll be part of a dedicated catering team serving military personnel at one of the Army's most historic and prestigious sites. Supporting the home of the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery, you'll deliver high-quality meals, develop your culinary skills, and enjoy a rewarding role where your work makes a real difference every day.

Although based at Woolwich, a lot of our business is at smaller sites which involves travel; a driving licence would be beneficial, but not essential.
