Job summary

Berkeley Scott Recruitment are actively recruiting experienced Education Chefs for the new school year starting in September. We work with a range of education clients, offering roles across schools in the Westonbirt and wider Gloucester area.

This is an excellent opportunity for Chefs seeking weekday work, work-life balance and the potential to secure long-term or permanent placements in school kitchens with term-time hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience as senior Chef, preferably in a school or similar environment.
• Right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not available for these roles.
• Enhanced DBS with child workforce or willing to obtain.
• Strong, reliable, and excellent communication skills are essential.
• Minimum Level 2 Food Safety and Allergens, as well as additional compliance training, is essential and will be provided free of charge for all applicants.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking nutritious, balanced meals for students and staff
• Planning menus in line with school guidelines and dietary requirements
• Ensuring high standards of food hygiene, safety, and kitchen cleanliness
• Managing stock, ordering supplies, and minimising waste
• Supervising and supporting kitchen assistants during service
• Adhering to all food safety and health & safety regulations

What You'll Be Doing as an Education Chef
