Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Chef at one of our Ministry of Defence sites in Wendover. You will join a team that prepares fresh, nutritious meals and maintains high standards of food safety in a busy kitchen.

You will work 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7, with rotating shifts from 05:00–13:30 and 11:00–19:30, at £14.64 per hour. NVQ in Catering is desirable; you must have been resident in the UK for the last 3 years.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Catering is desirable.
• Basic IT skills and confidence using everyday computer systems.
• Experience with menu preparation and bulk cooking.

Responsibilities

• Support the smooth running of the kitchen, including food preparation, service and general kitchen duties.
• Prepare, cook and present food to a consistently high standard.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and EHO guidelines to ensure a safe and compliant kitchen.
• Work closely with the front-of-house team to deliver friendly, efficient and excellent service.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, ensuring all kitchen sanitation procedures are followed.
• Help keep the kitchen organised, efficient and running smoothly throughout service.

• Experience of bulk cooking and preparing food for larger numbers.
• A positive attitude with a willingness to learn, develop and build your skills.
• Due to security requirements, you must have been continuously resident in the UK for the last 3 years to be eligible for this position.
