Job summary

Match Options Hertford is seeking a kitchen team member to prepare nutritious, well-balanced meals for residents, following menus and dietary needs. You will accommodate allergies and texture-modified diets while maintaining high food safety standards.

You will keep the kitchen clean, monitor temperatures, assist with stock and meal service, and work closely with care-home staff to ensure resident satisfaction and compliance with UK regulations.

Qualifications

• Prepare nutritious, well-balanced meals for residents.
• Cater for residents with specific dietary needs, including allergies and soft/puréed diets.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and allergen-control procedures.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
• Ensure food is prepared, cooked, stored and served at appropriate temperatures.
• Follow portion-control and presentation standards.
• Check food stock levels and report shortages or required supplies to the relevant manager.
• Minimise food waste while maintaining appropriate food quality and portion sizes.
• Keep accurate records, including temperature checks, cleaning schedules and other required food-safety documentation.
• Work closely with care-home staff to understand residents' preferences and dietary requirements.
• Comply with the care home's policies, procedures and relevant UK food-safety regulations.
• Support the kitchen team with general food preparation, cleaning and organisation when required
