Job summary

Sodexo Group is hiring a Chef at Kiwi Barracks, Wiltshire, to cook and serve fresh meals for military personnel. You’ll work a 40-hour contract in a professional catering team, focusing on quality, presentation, and consistency in a busy kitchen environment.

You’ll follow food safety and health & safety standards, contribute to events, and help maintain a clean, efficient kitchen. Previous kitchen experience and relevant culinary qualifications are desirable.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Cook or Chef in catering, hospitality or food service.
• Culinary qualifications such as City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ Level 2/3 desired.
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards (IOSH desirable).

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve fresh, high-quality meals within a busy kitchen.
• Ensure presentation, quality and consistency of every meal.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards (EHO compliant).
• Work as part of a friendly catering team to deliver efficient service.
• Prepare meals for military personnel for a consistent dining experience.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised and ready for service.

What you’ll do:

• Take responsibility for bulk cooking while maintaining high standards across all dishes

What you bring:

• Previous experience as a Cook or Chef within a catering, hospitality, or food service environment
• Culinary experience and a genuine passion for preparing good-quality food
• Relevant culinary qualifications such as City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Professional Cookery are desirable
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards (IOSH qualification desirable)
• The ability to work efficiently as part of a busy kitchen team while maintaining high standards
• A positive attitude, good attention to detail and pride in your work
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
