Job summary

Reach for Remarkable in Preston is seeking a skilled chef to manage production and food levels, ensuring minimal wastage and supporting new team members with learning procedures and standards for all kitchen tasks.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare food for breakfast, lunch and dinner with minimal wastage.
• Train and coach new team members on procedures and standards for kitchen tasks.
• Follow recipe cards to prepare, cook and serve meals.
• Assist with deliveries, stock checks, and placing food orders.
• Monitor temperatures of fridges, freezers, hot cabinets and serveries; complete daily paperwork.
• Assist in daily and weekly kitchen deep cleans.

Location: Fulwood Barracks, Preston PR2 8AA
Pay rate: £13.05 per hour (£25,534.61)
Contract type: Permanent, full-time. 37.5 hours/week, 5 days over 7 including occasional weekends
Shift times: range between 06:00 and 20:00.

You will be responsible for managing production and food levels to ensure minimal wastage and be supportive of new team members to support them with their learning procedures and standards for all kitchen tasks.

What you'll do:

• Cooking and preparing food ready for breakfast, lunch and dinner services ensuring minimal wastage. Providing fine dining (silver service level) for functions/hospitality events.
• Working collaboratively as part of a team of chefs and acting as a trainer/ coach for new team members to learn procedures and standards for all kitchen tasks.
• Following recipe cards to prepare, cook and serve a range of meals
• Assisting with deliveries and stock checks, placing food orders, and maintaining kitchen records.
• Monitoring and recording temperatures of fridges, freezers, hot cabinets, and serveries. Completing daily paperwork to cover due diligence.
• Assisting in daily and weekly kitchen deep cleans.
