Job summary

Hartford Care in Portsmouth, Hampshire is seeking a Chef for a full-time position of 36 hours per week, including alternate weekend working. You’ll prepare delicious, home-cooked meals for our residents, ensuring nutrition, variety, and safety in a well-run kitchen.

Qualifications

• Caring and compassionate approach to residents.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is required.
• Strong communication and organisational skills are essential.
• Confidence with IT systems used in the kitchen.
• Ability to prepare, cook and present nutritious meals.
• Understanding of individual dietary needs and preferences.
• Team spirit and flexibility in a busy care kitchen.

The Role

As a Chef, you’ll be at the heart of our home - preparing delicious, wholesome meals and snacks for our residents while keeping the kitchen running smoothly and safely.

From serving a comforting Sunday roast to hosting a bread-making session with residents or planning next week’s menu, you’ll put care and pride into everything you do.
