Job summary

Kenect Recruitment Ltd. is seeking an experienced Chef for a Milton Keynes role. Shifts are 11am to close, 4 days a week, totaling around 40 hours with overtime available.

Responsibilities include food preparation to high culinary standards, menu planning, staff supervision, inventory control, and strict adherence to health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate has at least 12 months in a similar role and Level 2 Food Hygiene, with Level 3 advantageous.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months experience in a similar role.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Warm and friendly personality with a passion for great food and service.
• Efficient at multitasking with good organisation and timekeeping.
• Keep accurate records including fridge temps, cooking temps, hot holding temps, cooling records, cleaning records and delivery records.
• Level 2 Food Hygiene is compulsory; Level 3 is advantageous.

Kenect Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Chef to work for our new client based in Milton Keynes..

Shifts: 11am- Closing, 4 days a week (40hr per week, plenty of overtime available)
Pay rate: starting at £16.50ph

Duties and Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Cook and present food items to high culinary standards.
• Menu Planning: Create balanced menus considering seasonality, food costs, and dietary needs.
• Staff Management: Supervise, train, and schedule kitchen helpers and cooks.
• Inventory Control: Track stock, order raw ingredients, and reduce kitchen waste.
• Safety & Hygiene: Enforce strict health, sanitation, and food safety regulation

Experience Required

• Experience working a similar role for a minimum of 12 months.
• The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, including managing a workload during busy periods.
• Warm and friendly personality with a passion for providing customers with great food and friendly service.
• Efficient at multitasking as well as having good organisation and time keeping skills.
• Keep accurate records and complete reports including but not limited to, fridge temperatures, cooking temperatures, hot holding temperatures, cooling records, cleaning records, and delivery records.
• Level 3 Food & Hygiene is advantageous, Level 2 is compulsory.
