Job summary

Aberford Hall Care Home is seeking a Sunday Chef to deliver high‑quality meals for residents in a calm, supportive kitchen environment. You will help plan menus, organise the kitchen and ensure consistent, nutritious meals with a comfortable work pattern.

The role offers DBS paid, uniform provided, and a clear weekly Sunday schedule with good work‑life balance and development opportunities within Care Concern Group.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2, or equivalent, or working towards.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate required.
• Experience in a professional kitchen environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive and reliable approach.

About Aberford Hall Care Home

Aberford Hall Care Home is a 41 bed care home located in the quiet residential community of Roundhay, near Leeds, West Yorkshire. Providing nursing care, the home offers a warm and welcoming environment with bright, comfortable living spaces, landscaped gardens and a family atmosphere. Colleagues work together to deliver high quality, person centred care and make a real difference to the lives of Residents every day.

Sunday Chef Contract

• £14.55 to £15.15 per hour
• Bank or part time to work every Sunday
• Paid [PVG/DBS], pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

No late evenings or split shifts, offering a consistent working pattern and genuine work life balance, alongside ongoing training and development opportunities.

Role Overview

As a Chef, you will deliver high quality, nutritious and enjoyable meals that are a key part of daily life. This is a role where your cooking has real impact, bringing comfort, routine and enjoyment while supporting overall wellbeing.
Working as part of a supportive team, you will contribute to menu planning, kitchen organisation and smooth day to day service. With no late evenings or split shifts, this role offers a strong work life balance while still allowing you to take pride in producing high quality food in a rewarding environment.
